Nani sold by Manchester United

Manchester United could decide to cash in on Nani this summer, according to Sunday Mirror.

The Portuguese winger has become unsettled at Old Trafford after the club refused to offer him an improved contract, while the player is also unhappy with the lack of playing time.

The 24-year-old lost his starting place when Antonio Valencia returned to action, with Sir Alex Ferguson’s decision not to start him in the Champions League final against Barcelona further upsetting the player.

With Manchester United set to complete the signing of England international Ashley Young, they are exploring the possibility of selling the Portuguese winger in the next transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Nani an escape route from Old Trafford, although the high asking price could scupper the deal as United want £40 million for the Portugal international.

Juventus interest in Bastos

Juventus are set to launch a new assault on Lyon winger Michel Bastos, according to a report in Il Corriere dello Sport.

The Bianconeri have been hot on the trail of the Brazilian even before the transfer window started but they appeared to have shelved the bid while pursuing other targets.

Nevertheless, after the Italian FA made the ruling allowing the club to sign two non-EU players per season, the Bianconeri have reignited their interest in the Lyon star.

New Juventus boss Antonio Conte believes Bastos would provide a much needed width to his 4-4-2 formation and he has instructed the club chiefs to try and bring the player to Olimpico.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Old Lady are ready to offer €12 million for the Brazilian international.

However, Lyon are hoping to get close to €16 million for the experienced winger, but Juventus should be able to lower the asking price.
